300 Word Statement

For those who call ourselves Leopards we understand that throughout our Lafayette experience we are continually earning our spots. As students discover their passions, create new experiences, develop leadership skills, and blossom into active members of a nurturing community our spots multiply. Just as faculty, students, alumni, and administrators have encouraged me to capitalize on the resources that Lafayette offers, I have worked to motivate other students so that they too can become proud Leopards.  The ideal Lafayette student shares knowledge, experiences, and passion to inspire other students to pursue their own visions.

The diverse leadership positions I have held at Lafayette including Resident Advisor, sorority president, blood drive coordinator, and fencing co-captain have enabled me to interact with a wide variety of people. Through these roles, I have become a valued resource for my peers, encouraging them to become involved around campus and supporting their endeavors. My perspective on senior year was bittersweet because I have limited time to carry out the rest of the changes I have envisioned. With this in mind I have continued to pass the momentum I have gathered onto others. I am proud to watch these new leaders become mentors to their peers. One by one, Lafayette students are creating a network of people united by enthusiasm, ambition, and passion to create transformational change. Over the last four years Lafayette has pushed me to grow and through the efforts of forward-thinking students it has grown alongside me.  I am excited to discover how passionate students will continue to impact the community.
